Meeting for Love The One You're With

The date has changed to Friday April 2, 2010. Jennifer does not get off till 9pm that night so we will begin at that time. It will be snack night, so just bring something lite. Hope to see everyone there!

I did not realize this was Easter until Cara pointed this out.

I have decided on April 4, 2010 Sunday to host the discussion. It will be at my apartment. Not sure on the time because the work schedule is not up but I am open on sunday nights and I don't mind it being late. Most times we are all pretty much available for this day.

If any one has a problem with this date (besides whether or not you have finished the book) please let me know and we can work around it!

As for what is to be served, I know Bobby wanted to cook for all of you but if he has to work I was thinking of a potluck. Something lite I guess is what I am going for. (depending on the time? Maybe something heavy?)

Any ideas or suggestions, just comment!
Hope everyone has gotten a chance to read it and is enjoying the story.

Love The One You're WIth

Here is the summary for our next bookclub pick.

emily giffin official website: "Ellen and Andy's marriage doesn't just seem perfect, it is perfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she’s living is the one she's meant to live. LOVE THE ONE YOU'RE WITH is a powerful story about one woman at the crossroads of true love and real life."

RIP Mr. Zinn

All I want to say about Howard, is thank you for all that he has done for American. Just in case you didn't know all the wonderful he has done I'll give you the low down. He is from a poor Jewish, factory family in Brooklyn, NY. He was a in the Air Force during WWII as a bombardier. Which he regret. He was head of the department of social science at Spelman College, which made a lot of noise and racket's in the 60s. He influence students to stand up against segregation in schools. it was so bad that the school had 30 violations jjust on the first and fourteenth amendment, lol. He wrote many articles about segregation during the time of John FK wrote some to Edgar Hoover, about the end of segregation. Zinn is all about civil rights and education and that's why I love him. He tells the history from the people's eyes in their own words, not lies you were taught school. I would definitely miss him I just wish I will have the chance to meet him. RIP Mr. Zinn

Hello my fellow book worms, I went ahead and choose Outlander for the month of Feb. going into March. As it was informed to me, you can find it for $4.50 or so at the Half Price Book Store. I will be hosting it at my home with a dinner. Ideas are welcome. fyi: I would like to host a sleep over at my place, maybe in mid-March.

Feb's Pick

FROM ACENE:

Because I'm forgot how to post on our blog, I'm reduced to sending this out on facebook.
I going you have to get a poll on which book I should pick:

Little Prince - it's about the prince setting out to explore planets and cure his loneliness.
not you can read it online at - http://www.angelfire.com/hi/littleprince/frames.html

or

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - historical sci-fi adventure-romance story.
The Outlander is at the half price bookstore for about $8-$10.

I myself wants to read Gabaldon's book but I'm going to have you guys pick which on will suit us both.
